RESET365 ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and all applicable South African legislation. This privacy policy applies to all services offered through the RESET365 website (reset365.co.za), including our Bank Statement Analyzer tool.
1. Who We Are
RESET365 is a financial wellness platform that helps individuals understand their spending habits, recover from gambling-related financial harm, and make informed decisions about their financial future. RESET365 operates as a subsidiary of A&A Group.

2. What Information We Collect
2.1 Website Browsing
When you visit our website, we collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics, including:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website or source
- Browser type, device type, and screen resolution
- Approximate geographic location (city/country level, not precise)
- General interaction data (clicks, scrolls)
This data is aggregated and anonymized — it does not identify you personally. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information (see Section 10).
2.2 Waitlist & Contact Forms
When you join our waitlist or submit a contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Any message content you choose to include
This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry or notify you about RESET365 updates and launches.
2.3 Bank Statement Analyzer Tool
When you upload a bank statement to our analyzer tool, we extract and process the following data:
- Transaction data: Dates, merchant/payee descriptions, transaction amounts, and running balances
- Bank identification: Which bank issued the statement (as selected by you)
We take steps to minimize personal information stored:
- The original PDF file is never stored — it is processed in server memory and immediately discarded
- Account numbers, addresses, ID numbers, and contact details are not included in extracted transaction data and are explicitly stripped from statement text before it is sent to any third-party service
- Reference numbers and card numbers in transaction descriptions are redacted before storage
- We do not collect or store any login credentials or banking passwords
Please note: Transaction descriptions as they appear on your statement may contain names of individuals or businesses (e.g., payment senders/recipients). These names are stored as part of the transaction data to enable accurate categorization. If this concerns you, you may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
2.4 Risk Assessment & Calculator Tools
Our Gambling Reality Calculator and Risk Assessment tools run entirely in your browser. No data from these tools is sent to any server, stored, or shared. Your results are completely private.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Website Analytics
Anonymous analytics data is used to understand how visitors interact with our website, improve our content and user experience, and measure the effectiveness of our outreach efforts.
3.2 Communications
Your contact details (name and email) are used to respond to enquiries and send you updates about RESET365 services if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe from communications at any time by contacting us.
3.3 Bank Statement Analyzer
Your transaction data is used solely to:
- Categorize your spending (e.g., groceries, transport, entertainment, gambling)
- Identify potential savings opportunities
- Generate investment growth projections based on identified savings
- Produce a personalized financial wellness report
We use OpenAI's API (GPT-4o-mini) in two ways:
- Transaction extraction (some banks only): When our rule-based system cannot parse your statement (e.g., for banks without a dedicated parser), the statement text is sent to OpenAI for transaction extraction. Personal details (account numbers, addresses, ID numbers, contact information) are stripped from the text before it is sent.
- Report generation (all reports): Aggregated spending category totals and merchant name summaries are sent to OpenAI to generate your personalized financial wellness summary. No raw transaction descriptions, account numbers, or personal details are included in this data.
OpenAI does not use API data for training purposes under their data usage policy.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal information on the following bases:
- Consent: For the Bank Statement Analyzer, you provide explicit consent by ticking the consent checkbox before uploading. For waitlist and contact form submissions, consent is given by submitting the form.
- Legitimate interest: For anonymous website analytics, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our service.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by requesting deletion of your data (see Section 8).
5. Data Storage and Security
- The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure with encryption in transit
- Analyzer reports and categorized transaction data are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, hosted in secure data centres
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- The original PDF is never stored — it is processed in server memory and discarded immediately after analysis
- Reports are accessible only via a unique, unguessable URL — there is no public listing or search of reports
- Only someone with your specific report link can view your data
6. Data Retention
- Analyzer reports: Retained for a maximum of 12 months from the date of creation, after which they are permanently deleted. You may delete your data at any time using the "Delete My Data" button on your report page.
- Contact/waitlist data: Retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or until you request its deletion.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data according to their own retention policies. We have configured a 14-month retention period.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Your Rights Under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your data at any time
- Object: Object to the processing of your personal information
- Withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to processing at any time
To exercise any of these rights, use the "Delete My Data" button on your report page for immediate deletion, or contact us at info@reset365.co.za. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
9. Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:
- Google Analytics: Anonymous website usage data is processed by Google under their data processing terms. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- OpenAI: (1) Statement text (with personal details stripped) may be sent to OpenAI's API for transaction extraction when a bank-specific parser is not available. (2) Aggregated spending category totals and merchant name summaries are sent to generate your personalized report. OpenAI's API data usage policy prohibits use of this data for model training.
- Google Cloud (Firestore): Report data is stored on Google's infrastructure under their data processing agreement.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): The website is hosted on AWS infrastructure.
10. Cookies
Our website uses cookies in the following limited ways:
- Google Analytics cookies: These cookies (_ga, _gid) are used to distinguish unique visitors and track anonymous browsing patterns. They do not contain personal information. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any other third-party tracking technologies. The Bank Statement Analyzer tool does not use cookies.
11. Disclaimer
The financial analysis, savings recommendations, and investment projections provided by RESET365 are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Investment projections are illustrative and based on assumed rates of return — actual returns may vary. Consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.
RESET365 is not a registered financial services provider. We do not manage, hold, or invest funds on your behalf through this tool.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or tools after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Complaints
If you believe your personal information has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator:
